Grouping

Build an environment of acceptance and appreciation of all students. Broaden the range of social interaction of marginalized students (the outsiders).

-Students get a say in the rules and expectations of the classroom. At the start of the year, ask the students what they need/desire and take that into account when planning activities, etc.

-Make students feel safe and comfortable.

-Recognize individuality and embrace students’ cultures and backgrounds.
